Who We Are

Tropical Selections was established as a Canadian based company by John Van Capelle. 

Being born into the foliage industry with a family owned greenhouse business in the 1960’s, John received  years of hands on training and a strong background in the industry.  Learning to understand the needs of the growers, John was then able to apply these requirements into his new venture  “Tropical Selections”. 

 
Tropical Selections started in 1990 with John wearing every hat from owner, general manager, sales, and sole driver.  With one truck, infinite determination and a strong work ethic passed down by his father,  John used his honest reputation and previous industry contacts to get a foot in the door and show them what he could do.

  It wasn’t long before the company proved itself by offering superior service and began to grow. More trucks and drivers were soon needed.

Tropical Selections now handles many prestigious clients in the industry who put their faith into Tropical Selections to “get the job done properly”.  

Today the company is looking towards more USA expansion and the additional hiring of highly qualified Owner Operators.
